This will be my third Rosh HaShana since I left Kollel to go to work. Since I left the structure of spending fourteen hours a day studying – I’ve found it really hard deal with certain questions of priorities and time management.
I feel like in the working world, we’re constantly having to define our values and aspirations much more so than in Yeshiva or Kollel where the default is to be as involved as possible in one thing all the time. For the past two years I’ve felt like I was being pulled in a hundred different directions everyday.
Setting priorities and working out real ways to manage my time and energy around those priorities is a goal for 5779.
